Our Purpose — Your Purpose
We don’t want to be presumptuous and just assume that we know what your purpose in life is. But because we all pretty much want the same things in life, we believe that to a great extent our purpose and your purpose is much the same. And what is that? Thanks for asking.
It is safe to say that most of us want at least three things in life. We desire to have an intimate and meaningful relationship with God, our Creator, as well as with other significant people. Furthermore, we want to experience an inner sense of well-being about ourselves. Some call it self-esteem. Thirdly, we want to be able to make a helpful and significant contribution to our world. That is, we want our life to count for something important.
Did we get it right? Do any or all of the three “wants” strike a nerve with you? Thought so. You see, our wants and needs become our purpose. Now we may not consciously look at it that way but day in and day out we do what we do seeking to address our needs and thus we define our purpose.
So, the issue is not, what is our purpose in life? but rather how we go about fulfilling that purpose? That’s the catch! That’s our struggle. That is why we are often found looking for love in all the wrong places!
Because of His goodness and grace, we at Parmer Lane Church have found the answer. We have found that we can know and love God, build meaningful relationships with others, get our own inner person cleaned up and find a real reason to get up every morning through a personal relationship of faith with Jesus Christ.
We invite you to explore Our Purpose — Your Purpose with us. It is an exciting journey!
